SIG approves 17.8M for CT scan project, tenders soon to be launched

The Solomon Islands Government through a Cabinet decision has approved a sum of SBD 17.8 million dollars to design and build the complex to house the Computer Tomography (CT) scan machine.

This is part of the Democratic Coalition Government for Advancement (DCGA)’s 100 Days policy priorities

The money will also be used for the management of the CT scan project, and to provide and supply and fit-out minor equipment and accessories needed for the project.

The ill state of Manuopo clinic which continues to be accessed by people in the reef Islands of Temotu Province

Solomon Islands Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr. Tautai Agikimua Kaitu'u has confirmed that his Ministry had allocated SBD$6m to the reconstruction of Manuopo clinic in the Reef islands of Temotu Province.

The Honourable Minister revealed this in parliament this week when asked by MP for Aoke/Langalanga Hon. Matthew Wale about the progress of work done at the clinic.

Rural Health Clinic 2000 Feet Above Sea Level

Guadalcanal Provincial Premier Hon. Anthony Veke official handed over a rural health clinic 2000 ft above sea level at Salamarao village in the highlands of Guadalcanal. 

Speaking at the ceremony, Premier Veke explained to the villagers the Provincial Government Strengthening Program (PGSP) and its ancillary the Provincial Capacity Development Fund (PCDF) which enable the funding and completion of the clinic project.
