The Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs is established to upload and promote rights of women, young people and children through effective partnership and strong commitment in creating equal opportunities for all to advance the wellbeing of the nation. In order for the ministry to fully achieve its goals and objectives, the ministry with the approval of Ministry of Public Service has established a new position of the Director, Family Development Division. This position is now advertised and interested applicants are invited to apply.

The Director’s position is a very senior position in the ministry. With the specific policy on family development still absent as yet, the FDD will work within the spirit of the ministry vision which is, “Solomon Islands is a peaceful, productive and happy nation that embraces and honors diversity, offers equal opportunity for all women, men, young people, and children to fulfil their potential, and protects their rights and freedoms as enshrined in the Constitution.

Qualification Requirement: A degree in social development, law or related fields with demonstrated wide experience working with human rights organizations at the national level especially related to family development and specific areas such as women, youth and children. The person must also be able to formulate identified issues to inform policies and translate policies into action plans. Must possess excellent planning and management skills
