Expression of Interest: National Consultant

Project Manager for Construction of Electronic Monitoring Office Building at the MFMR.

The MSSIF Programme is funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme and has a goal to support MFMR in the sustainable development and management of fisheries resources to ensure long term benefits for the people of Solomon Islands.
A consultancy opportunity (up to 30 days over five months) is available for a national consultant to design, cost and oversee construction of a 12m x 6m Electronic Monitoring Office Building on site at the MFMR campus in Kukum.  The Electronic Monitoring Office building will accommodate a working area for five officers, a storage room and a coordinators office.

In consultation with MFMR the consultant will be required to:

  • Draw up floor plans, specifications and a list of materials for construction of the Electronic Monitoring Office Building.Involvement during the construction phase will be limited to response to technical and approval of material submittal sheets.
  • Seek expressions of Interest for construction of the building, contribute technical expertise to the MFMR tender committee in awarding the construction contract to a suitable company/individual following Solomon Islands Government procurement procedures.
  • Liaise with the selected construction company/individual and the MFMR to oversee completion of construction by March 2018.

Application Instructions

The MFMR now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services.  Interested consultants must initially provide a brief (maximum five pages)
Expression of Interest including information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (e.g. company details, CV, description of similar assignments, experience with SIG processes etc.)
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Solomon Islands Procurement and Contract Administration Manual and SIG Financial Instructions 2010. 
This assignment must be completed before the end of march 2018.  Only shortlisted individuals will be contacted to provide further details.
