PROCUREMENT OF CONSULTANT SERVICES

 

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD), is seeking expressions of interest from locally and International experienced and qualified people for Request for Proposal for the Policy Adviser to provide Direct Support to MEHRD in Coordination, management and Preparation of Education Policy.

 

Background

It is proposed to appoint a Policy Adviser to provide direct support to the MEHRD in the Coordination, Management and Preparation of Education Policy.The advisor will be self-motivated to provide guidance and direction for MEHRD policy coordination, planning and development.

 

Duration

The scope of Service activities is up to 50 days engagement with the consultant’s key tasks.

Location

MEHRD’s main office Tongs Building in Point Cruz, Honiara, Solomon Islands.

Qualification and Experience

The successful applicant will at least a degree level qualification in a relevant field of study such as education, social sciences, change management, monitoring and evaluation or education/ school management.

Relevant skills and experience:

  • At least five years’ experience in a similar position requiring policy development;
  • Experience in the preparation or review of policy;
  • Experience in management;
  • Well-developed analytical and report writing skills and experience;
  • Experience in teaching, coaching/mentoring or capacity building of staff;
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable

 

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Solomon Islands Government Procurement Manual and Financial Instructions.
