National Fisheries Development (NFD) is seeking highly motivated, energetic seafarers with proven experience and proficiency to work on-board our Pole & Line fishing vessels under the Pole & Line fleet department.

The positions required qualification and experience;

  • Class 4 masters and above

At least 5 years of experience working on board a vessel

Chief Officer

  • Class 5 Master and above
  • Advance Safety Certification
  • Valid Medical Report

At least 3 years of experience working on-board a vessel

Chief Engineer

1

  • Class 4 Master Engineering and above
  • Advance Safety Certification Valid Medical Report

At least 5 years of experience working on-board a vessel

Engineer

2

  • Class 5 Master Engineering and above
  • Basic Safety Certification
  • Valid Medical Report

At least 2 years experience working on-board a vessel

Demonstrated Skills and Attributes;

  • Prioritise safety requirements
  • Must be able to follow NFD Fleet working rules
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Mentally and physically fit
  • Good hand and eye condition
  • Able to work long hours
  • An understanding of fishing regulation and legislation

The salary package and attached entitlement will be discussed between NFD and the recommended candidates.
