Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI)

  1. PPAP is a multi-donor financial project which started in April 2014 and will be completed in June 2019. The total financing is US$101 Million or approximately PGK 303 million. The main financiers are the World Bank, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) the European Union and the Government of PNG.
  2. The principal object of PPAP is to improve the livelihoods of smallholder cocoa and coffee producers supported by the Project. The Project is envisaged to achieve the above through
    1. Strengthening key sector agencies and enhancing industry coordination,
    2. Developing demand-driven public – private sector partnerships to improve service delivery and the livelihoods of smallholder cocoa and coffee farmers, and
    3. Addressing critical market infrastructure constraints facing the industry
  3. The Project is implemented by the Cocoa Board and the Coffee Industry Corporation. Two Project Management units are established with CIC and CB with a Project Coordination Unit (PCU), is based on the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Port Moresby. The two (2) PMUs work with a number of Lead Partner entities (companies, cooperatives, NGOs etc) in implementing Component 2 activities, Farmers and other stakeholders communicate with the PPAP through these Lead Partners who receive funds through the PPAP for approved project proposals relating to Component 2.
  4. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
    The task of this assignment is to deliver one-day (7.5 hrs) training in Sustainable Livelihood, Gender Participation and Decision Making to Lead Farmers and their spouses throughout PPAP Coffee Partnerships in Eastern Zone (Simbu and Eastern Highlands Provinces).
  5. BRIEF ACTIVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN
  • Facilitate one-day training as Private Trainer.
  • Take note on participant’s comments and provide feed-back to help in the process of reviewing training module
  • Submit activity report using training activity reporting template.
  1. TYPES OF CANDIDATES WE ARE LOOKING FOR – qualification and experiences

Education

  • Graduate in Agriculture from recognized institutions or other community development studies

 

Experience

  • At least 3 years working experience
  • More than 2 years’ experience in facilitating trainings at community levels
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating social activities including church activities

Abilities

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a difficult social context
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong commitment to provide feed-back in learning environment.
