Request for Expressions of Interest

The Solomon Islands Government has received financing from the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility to be one of the first four Pacific Island Countries (PICS) to participate in the Pacific Islands Regional Oceanscape Program (PROP), together with the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA). The objective of the PROP is to strengthen the management of Selected Pacific Island oceanic and coastal fisheries, and the critical habitats upon which they depend. The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) is the implementing agency for the PROP in the Solomon Islands.

To support project implementation, MFMR is seeking the services of a consultant to prepare a National Deep Water Snapper Fisheries Management Plan. The management plan should address national, regional, and international requirements and international best practices but be implementable by the MFMR within their operating context. The Management plan will contribute to the Government’s strategic objectives for aquaculture, fisheries and marine resources. Interested consultants (individuals) must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills and CV).

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (revised July 2017).
